Trump’s ACA Sabotage Will Cause Higher Uninsured Rate and Increased Premiums
Washington, DC – In response to the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) latest report on federal health insurance subsidies that predicts the uninsured rate rising by 3 million over the next year and the premiums on the exchanges increasing an average of 15 percent in 2019, Health Care for America Now Co-Directors Ethan Rome and Margarida Jorge released the following statement:
“For the millions of Americans who will see their health care costs increase or who lose insurance altogether, President Trump’s sabotage of the ACA is an attack on their families, their savings, and their health. Affordable health care can be the difference between life and death, between declaring bankruptcy and being able to afford your mortgage, but Trump and his Republican colleagues are intent on dismantling the law – no matter what the cost. As voters prepare to cast their ballots this November, they will not forget the GOP’s continued war on health care.”
