I am 37 years old. I have a government job for 15 years as teacher, administrator, and academic counselor at a community college. When I left to start my own consulting business I lost my insurance. Cobra was too expensive for my budget, so I tried HMO and was turned down due to a personal, but minor and very "ding" on my application It has been two years since I have gone without insurance. Knock on wood so to speak - like millions others out there, I go with out care, and hope for the best. I have been lucky, but know that so many others have not and then the strain falls on our emergency rooms and illness having gone far too long and possible even spread so wide. Health care for all of us, is good for all of us. Gabrielle Sundra
