We have individual insurance, as we are retired and on a fixed income. My husband is in good health. Except he got Hep C when he was in his late teens while in the army in Germany in the 1970's. Because he has hep C, we cannot change the medical insurance we have. Which means we have no prescription coverage and if he does have to be treated in the future for any problems, we have to pay for all med's ourselves. In addition, because I have chronic back pain, I cannot change my coverage either.
The insurance companies pick and choose who they will cover, so their stockholders will make money.
As long as their is a profit for the insurance companies, they will not do what is right for the patient and will continue to tell the doctors how to practice medicine.
