I fell in November and broke my right wrist quite severely. Even with the health insurance I have through my work, I still owed the hospital and doctors over a thousand dollars. If my employer would have afforded the previous plan of health care, I would have owed less than half of that. It took me over 7 months to pay everything off. And I should consider myself "lucky" for having health care? This isn't good enough. My daughter owes thousands of dollars from 2 separate accidents last year and has applied for hardship assistance in order to get these bills paid. I have grandchildren who don't qualify for public health because their parents make just over the maximum allowed. They are several of the 3 million children who don't have health care at all.
