I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2-1/2 years ago. I also went through a divorce at that time. My insurance was through my spouse, ANTHEM. Because we are divorced and I have had no health insurance on my own, I am on COBRA (for 18 mo.) and then will be on HIPPA. I know I'm lucky to have anything at all but my premiums are 775.00/mo right now and will be over 1,000./mo soon. I cannot get any other insurance as I work for myself.
This is not right! Many of us who have had serious health issues are the ones taking better care of ourselves now and yet we are 'uninsurable'.
Let's get healthcare for all!
