Dover, NH

I am 55, divorced and self-employed as a writer. I also do temp or part-time jobs in Dover, NH. I have been laid off as much as I have been employed for the past several years.

Recently, my health insurance shot up to $900/month--just because of my age--including the deductible. So, I am preparing to leave the US to live somewhere where I can buy the best private insurance in the world for half the price of what I pay here for the basics.

That place is Malta. G-d Willing, I will go this Oct. My daughters and I have had to accept this. They didn't believe the health insurance situation was so bad until they started hearing it on their own in the news.

I'm involved with a man form Europe. But he can't come here because then we would have two health-insurance crises on our hands.

You can read more about my decision on my blog:

Thanks for listening.
