I am a healthy 31 year old mother of two. My husband just recently had a career change, which entailed changing insurance carriers. I have now been rejected and do not qualify for health insurance because I was in a car accident 2 years ago. I am strong and fit, I control my back with yoga and acupuncture and have no pain. But because some careless driver hit me, I no longer qualify for insurance. I did not choose to change insurance carriers but I had to and now I'm stuck crossing my fingers, hoping that nothing happens to me, that my family won't go into debt should I ever become ill. It is sad, scary and totally unnecessary. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
