I had to us the ER because I had an ashtma attach. It cost me over twelve hundred dollars. I only get $524. a month from Social Security. I offered to pay it off at $50. a month and they refused. Now I have them calling all the time. It has gone into collections. I am not old enough for medi-care but had to take an early retirement. My husband has Multiple Sclerosis and has had a stroke. I have been his care taker now since 1988. It is people like me that should be able to receive their Medi-care when they have to apply for Social Security at the age of 62. I am a caregiver with out any midical. If I get sick what on earth is going to happen to my husband? The stress I live with everyday because of this debt is very hard on me. My husband and I have no debt and now a medical bill I can not pay. It is making me sick. He doesn't even know about it because he doesn't need any extra stress. I don't know if I can make it another 12 months before I turn 65. What am I to do if something major happens to me? I pray I stay well until I am able to get my medi-care.I took my Social Security as to pay for health insurance. I had it for a year. It went up to $500. a month with all the co-pays if I visited the doctor one time in a years it took my whole check and then some. On the second year the cost and co-pays went up and I had to drop it because I couldn't afford it. I have a sacreilac problem and am having trouble walking. I pray I make it to age 65 with out any problems with that, even though I am in pain all the time from this on my left leg.
