In theory, we have good health care. We pay, in additon to medicare fees, $916 per month for health insusrance. We also pay $1500 per year for my husband to see an internist who only accepts a limited number of patients so that he can give personalized care. Don't let anyone tell you that universal care will lead to long waits, incompetent service, etc. In spite of having good insurance, we have a horrible time getting service. As only one example, my husband has been unable to swallow solid foods since May 1. He is steadily losing weight (30 pounds to date). We may finally get an answer to his problem by July 16. I spend virtually hours on hold trying to reach doctors offices to make appointments, etc. I also spend hours trying to get reports on the procedures he has had.
