I have been through the usual stuff with insurance companies; I've had care denied, we're on COBRA with $800/month premiums and $3000 deductible, and all the rest that everyone has had.

But this takes the cake. My family doctor, the best MD I've ever met, quit the practice, mostly due to interference from BCBS (Wellmark) in Iowa. They are now dictating care regimens to the doctors and "grading" the clinic by their patients' compliance. Currently, they are "rewarding" the clinic with higher paybacks for claims.

However, they will soon start putting the names of MDs on their website along with a "grade" for their recommendation for treatment on various conditions.

This is outrageous, and it was the last straw for my doctor. Our small community lost a good one when she left. Shame on the medical system for allowing this to happen.
