1990 my husband and I started a company and my primary goal for our employees was to provide them with the best (free to them) health care coverage we could possibly find. We did just that and each year the premiums jumped dramatically and the coverage declined. After only a few years we found it impossible to fund the premiums being a small business so we had the employees contribute a small portion, and gave them options as to how much coverage they felt they needed. Each year we asked them to contribute more while the coverage continued to decline and the premiums continued to skyrocket. That company is no longer in business because costs became more than profits in insurances and other materials.
I am now a single female, retired with no health insurance. I have been declined because of high cholesterol. What is insurance for if not to help those with health issues. I have contributed to health insurance premiums over the years with never using a dime in claims yet they still deny me coverage now.
I am for 100% free top quality health care for all American people. That includes reasonable prescription drugs. No more advertising and no more gouging prices. I have been to Australia on vacation with my children and had to visit the emergency room since my two sons were ill. The total cost for that visit was $50($25 each) for a non citizen, it's free for it's citizens. Prescriptions were extra and very affordable (no insurance needed). The care was excellent.
The U.S. is so backwards in being a "leading nation". That just is no longer true, we are a greedy and failing nation. We are failing the citizens of this country in the name of money. We will let people die if they don't have insurance to pay for health care, or put them in bankruptcy because of health care costs. We are no longer a humanitarian country concerned about it's people, we are a very partisan country with our Congress (who we voted into office) with many not concerned at all about helping those who voted them into office, just about being puppets and following a self absorbed current party/administration. They don't belong in office as our representatives in policy making when they don't truly represent our needs as people/citizens/voters. Let's vote into Congress representatives who will really represent us and look out for OUR needs as a WHOLE country of citizens. It's up to us as citizens to vote for candidates who care about it's people not just their party. They need to have a backbone and heart to do what's right for the people: not be spineless and cowards to a manipulating and deceiving administration feeding untruths and propaganda for their own agenda - which is not for the good of this country or it's people.
