Like many Americans I have no health care. I am currently working on my MA in Special Education. Although completely healthy now and no longer under a doctors care I have a "pre-existing condition". I could buy a health plan for close to $1,000 per month. Ironically, as a para-educator I earn just a little more than that amount 10 months of the year. I wont have health coverage until I complete my degree and become a teacher.
I went to Sacramento in support of SB840 a couple years ago with the local union. What a blast to be a part of something so huge. In spite of so many supporters, the bill did not pass but we were heard and will continue to grow in solidarity.
Thank you for your efforts on a national level.
Sincerely,
Carol Still
