I am a single woman - living in NY State.
I own my own business and in NY you must ahve 2 people in your Co. to have group insurance. So I must insure myself.
My policy last year was going up to almost $ 500.00 per month. So I increased my deductable to $ 5000.00 to reduce the monthly cost.
The cost went down to $377.00 per month - still too high for me in this awful economy.
This month it went up again to 425.00 per month - I am back to where I was with a
$ 2000.00 deductable.
My insurance cost so much that I never see a DR. as it will still cost me hundreds before I make my high deductable. I haven't had a mamogram in 10 years or just an annual check up. I fell not to long ago and am nursing a very painful left arm that I couldn't lift up. Again - no Dr. for me. I can't afford it - so I suffer in pain.
