I have health insurance but my health care and in fact life decisions are not made in my family and with my doctor but made by a bureaucrat who works for my health insurance carrier. They make the decisions about which medications I can take like my migraine medicine that helps me and keeps me functioning even when the one they say I can take doesn't work for me. I had a medical procedure done and one of the doctors it turns out, was not in their network so I received a $2000 bill as the out of network deductible is $5000. My doctor ordered some blood tests to screen for possible disease he thought I might have that usually is found when you are terminal, but the insurance company denied the $100 test. I was having trouble seeing with my glasses and went into a ophthalmologist and because I was at 18 months since my last exam, not 24, they denied payment. Yes, I have health insurance but health doesn't seem to matter, as it is now all about money.
