On June the 14th of this year the mother of my children and my friend Christine Brown died from cancer, she did not have health insurance. We were divorced some years ago but remained close, it was sad to see her die slowly from this disease. Christine was dropped from the state insurance plan because they said she made too much money no other health plan would accept her because of her condition. Christine worked has a Personal care worker for our daughter who has Down syndrome out of her home, she couldn't afford her medication, but she made too much money, the quality of her life could have been better if she had the right health care. I watched a beautiful strong woman disappear right in front of my eyes, the cancer took her over after a year long battle. I had offered to place her on my health insurance but she refused ..she said that being a Tax paying American there should be no way that she can't get the health care that she needs, but she didn't I had to buy her medication out of my pocket just so she wouldn't suffer I don't think she got the right type of care for a cancer patient. This needs to be stopped so that no other Mother GrandMother sister or ex-wife die because they don't have the health care they need.
