I moved to the UK with my husband who is English and was astonished at their National Health System. I really don't understand why this country can't follow suit. We could have the best national health care system in the world!

Before I moved to the UK with my husband, who is a UK citizen,I struggled with health care as many americans do. I always worked and was making my way in life, but the jobs I had never offered health benefits. when I needed a doctor, I was in debt for months afterwards.

I couldn't believe it when I arrived in the UK and this same care was offered for free. Well not exactly free, those who work contribute by paying a "tax" to the NHS, like Social Security is here. This payment is just for their health care, it is used for everyone. What a concept! Why should your financial status determine if you should get health care or not?

I'm now back in the US after living in the UK for 10 years. I worry constantly about my job security....not because of the income, but becuase of the health benefits. Now that I'm older, being without health coverage scares the life out of me.

I watched both my mother and father struggle on in there latter years and it tore my heart out. They had to sacrifice just to get to a doctor or pay for some medication. This is America for crying out loud! How can we do this to our people!

Health care shouldn't be a privilege, it should be a right, a right of EVERYONE.
