As a physician I have witnessed evidence for both sides of the debate. The ONE outstanding fact is the the Government control of health care since Medicare legislation of the late 1980's has increased costs for everyone else and hurt the health of our nation. Government decisions are, at best, compromises and will not provide the best to anyone. It is based on accounting and statistics, not on personal choice or on individuals.

Yes, our current system could use some thoughtful fixes that perhaps provides MORE choice, rather than the government mandated participation in "compromised care" that all seniors and their physicians are coerced into using.
