Two years ago my Icelandic girlfriend and I had a baby. He came 10 weeks before his due date. We had stayed in the US for some time, and the baby came soon after we returned to Iceland. Thank God for that. After a month in the hospital we had a happy healthy baby, and we won«t be in debt for the rest of our lives, as would have been the case if we were in the US. It is an emberassment that the US health services rank alongside Cuba and well below that of the rest of the industrial world. No shortage of money for defense contracts and military occupations, but when it comes to tax money being spent on something other than the wealthiest 1% of Americans, nothing. The US is a socialist country, just in a backwards way... the wealthy get handouts, the needy get nothing.
