roundtable discussion with small businesses about their experiences
with health care and ideas for reform. DeParle invited Jody Hall, owner
of Cupcake Royale and Verite Coffee in Seattle, WA and a member of the
Washington Small Business for Secure Health Care Coalition, to start
the discussion by sharing her story. In her closing remarks, DeParle
brought the discussion back to Jody's story and reaffirmed the Obama
Administration's commitment to enacting real health reform this year.

In his closing remarks at the health care summit, President Obama said, "With respect to the cost of care, Richard Kirsch with the Health Care for America Now said that we can't have a false dichotomy between coverage and costs, that by covering more people we can also lower costs at the same time, presumably because those who are not insured at the moment are ending up using extraordinarily expensive emergency room care."
