Statement on HHS Nominee Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Nancy-Ann DeParle
Washington, DC – Health Care for America Now (HCAN) – the nation’s largest health care campaign – released the following statement today on the nomination of Governor Kathleen Sebelius for Secretary of Health and Human Services and the appointment of Nancy-Ann DeParle to serve as Counselor to the President and Director of the White House Office for Health Reform:
“Governor Sebelius has an outstanding record as an advocate for health care consumers in Kansas and is a great choice to help President Obama achieve his goal of quality, affordable health care for everyone in 2009,” said Richard Kirsch, National Campaign Manager for Health Care for America Now. “ We look forward to her working together with Nancy-Ann DeParle to guarantee we win true health care reform that puts people’s health before corporate greed and gives us the choice of a public health insurance plan so we are no longer at the mercy of the private health insurance industry.”
