Center for Community Change - Sharing in the American dream

At the Center for Community Change, we believe that the hyper-individualism
that has pervaded the American ethos for too long has left us isolated and
unnecessarily divided.  At its core, America is a nation of communities,
neighborhoods and families, people living together, committed to ensuring the
welfare of all. At our best, we include everyone in our shared quest to make
the American dream a reality.

Unfortunately, in many arenas, healthcare in particular, we have fallen short
of our potential and our best intentions. More than 46 million Americans lack
health care, and most of those who have health care find it increasingly
inadequate and unaffordable.  The crisis of health care hits communities of
color and poor families the hardest.  The majority of these communities lack
coverage entirely, and when they are able to secure health insurance, the care
they receive is abysmal.

The Center for Community Change strengthens, connects and mobilizes
grassroots groups to enhance their leadership, voice and power.  Now is the
time for millions of Americans at the local level, all across the United
States, to stand up and share their story about the health care crisis in
America and join with others to write a new chapter of quality, affordable,
health care for all.
