HCAN and Main Street Alliance have written a letter to the House Ways and Means Committee opposing the budget reconciliation recommendation that penalizes middle-class families that purchase insurance with the assistance of the Affordable Care Act’s premium tax credits. The provision would raise taxes on families whose mid-year changes in income or circumstance cause a year-end recalculation of their premium tax credit.
